4 Ways to Calm Puffiness

Salty foods, allergies and crying jabs are often hard to avoid, and hence, so are puffy eyes. Here are the best remedies to bring down the swelling.

1. After as salty meal, drink a large glass of water or a cup of green tea before bed. If tears or allergies are to blame than take an over the counter antihistamine.

2. Sleep with one extra pillow under your head. the elevation helps prevent fluid from setting under the skin around your eyes.

3. If you wake up puffy, dab a pea sized drop of de-puffing eye gel that contains caffeine onto the puffy area. Look for the ones with anti- inflammatory ingredients.

4. For an at home treatment, stick to wet tea bags (caffeinated black tea works best) in the refrigerator   for fifteen minutes. Than place them under your eyes for ten minutes. The caffeine and cold will constrict blood vessels and drain fluid. A chilled gel filled eye mask also works well. Just be sure to choose the one without holes.
